People often think that SEO is completely technical. But it's not. You can have great keywords, perfect meta titles, perfect meta descriptions, and perfect formatting, and still not rank or get very many sales.
Which is why I love the idea of search experience optimization. Make your content extremely useful, your site extremely easy to use, and pepper in plenty of subtle sales pitches. That's how you get fully optimized.
2. What's Working On LinkedIn
This is LinkedIn advice, but it applies to most socials. What's working is taking a concept and making it a little bit more interesting or entertaining that just plainly saying it. Plainly saying things isn't working well at all.
So, if I want to write something inspiring, I'll make it a story. If I want to highlight a marketing concept, I'll give examples of it. If I want to share a tip, I'll share 7 tips in a listicle instead. It takes a bit more time, but it's worth it.
3. Can You Prove It?
Benefits-focused copywriting is fine, but your reader will always consciously or subconsciously ask if you can prove that you deliver those benefits. Saying it isn't enough. They need to actually believe it.
So, if you have social proof, use it often. If you don't, hustle like crazy to get it. Consider working for free or cheap until you have something to show people. After that, selling will get so much easier.
4. Lesson From The Build
"We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act but a habit." Socrates wrote that thousands of years ago, but it's just as relevant today as it was an ancient Greece. Perhaps even more relevant.
Don't build your identity off of your goals or who you want to be. Realize that who you are is what you do. Turn desires and ethics into actions. That's how you build the character and life that you want most.
