It's basically their best impressions of Perplexity. Rather than giving users a bunch of links to click on, it summarizes everything for them and cites links on the side. That's on top of their AI summaries, which show up on around half of regular searches already. Two takeaways: blogs are continuing to get less clicks, and it's worth thinking about how you can get cited by these. 2. Social Search It's not just AI that's eating into typical search. It's also social media. A large portion of people searching for stuff now go to Pinterest, TikTok, and Instagram to get information on it. This wasn't the case for decades. I'm not here to tell you that starting a blog is useless. But the days of just relying on a blog to newsletter to sales pitch funnel are over. You have to be your own media company, not just a blogger or writer. 3. The Foundation Of Sales Here's sales in one sentence: "people buy from you when they know about you, want the outcome you're promising, trust you to deliver it, and believe you're a uniquely good option compared to your competitors." So, figure out your positioning. Then get good at what you do. Then get results proving you're good. Then put those results in front of as many people as you can with DMs and content. Everything else is a waste of time. 4. Lesson From The Build There are no businesses that just grow at a certain percent every year, and there are no business owners that feel pretty good about what they're doing all the time. Instead, there are seasons. Ups and downs. I've been through both about a dozen times each. If you're in an up phase, stay humble and realize it won't last forever.
