[Weekly] A New Year. A New Decade. A New Copyblogger.

Hey. I'm Tim. I'm new here. I recently joined the Copyblogger team. You will be seeing plenty of me in the future, but as this is my first post, I'd like to start with a story.

I still remember the first time I found Copyblogger.

The year was 2010. I had started my first blog. I called it "The 4th Dimension." I had moved to Florida to stay with my cousin. It was my first time living outside of Philadelphia. I was embarking on a new journey in my life.

After a few months of blogging, I started noticing some patterns. I started looking at traffic analytics and I developed a newfound interest in ways to bring new traffic to my website. I started Googling ways to grow a blog and I started reading articles about how I could turn a blog into a business.

That's when I found Copyblogger. That's when Brian Clark and my fascination with content marketing first entered my life. It changed everything for me.

How Copyblogger helped me build a remarkable business

I became obsessed with content marketing. I would start every morning with a cup of coffee and would read the latest article published on Copyblogger.

I read every ebook, I took notes, I listened to every podcast and most importantly, I started implementing these tools, tactics, and strategies into my life.

Over the last 10 years, I started a successful marketing agency, I built a media company, I've consulted with hundreds of clients, drove millions of page views of traffic, and drove millions of dollars in revenue into my business.

All of that success was built on the backbone of a simple marketing strategy called content marketing. The "audience first" approach that I adopted is the biggest reason why my companies have succeeded.

Copyblogger works. Plain and simple. Now, I am grateful and privileged to give away the knowledge that was so freely given to me. With that, the new decade brings in new opportunities for Copyblogger and new opportunities to grow your online presence.

What will that look like?

Reinventing Copyblogger

The Copyblogger team has spent the last two months planning and strategizing for the new decade.

Content marketing looks much different now than it did when Copyblogger was first created. The landscape of content marketing and digital marketing changes so quickly.

How can you keep up with the times?

As we enter a new decade, Copyblogger is reinventing itself.

Don't worry, you can still expect the same great content from us. We're standing by our ethos and our mission.

What we're doing is expanding the strategies we teach and giving our audience new tools to build their businesses, build their authority, and implement smart digital marketing and sales.

What exactly is this going to look like?

Here's a simple breakdown of our new approach and the reinvention of Copyblogger as we dive into 2020.

Search engine optimization

Copyblogger has always been an authority on SEO.

However, you can expect us to dive deeper into the SEO world, and teach you the true technicalities behind how to create content that appeals to search engines while also serving your audience.

If you pay attention to a few subtle, yet important, rules within your content and your website, you can open up a firehose of free organic traffic to your site.

Best of all, traffic that comes to your site through search is always relevant. Search traffic has "intent" behind it. Your user quite literally searched for exactly what it is that you are offering.

We think that's worth learning more about.

Video creation and marketing

Did you know that 55% of search results contain video? Did you know that by 2021, it's projected that 82% of all online traffic will be video?

The landscape of content marketing is changing.

People are hungry for new forms of media in which they can be entertained, educated, and served.

We'll show you EXACTLY how to incorporate video into your content strategy, even if you aren't comfortable in front of the camera.

Podcasts and audio content

It's no secret that podcasts are exploding in popularity.

It has never been easier to create a podcast and build a loyal following through audio content. In the past, there was a barrier to entry into podcasting because of the equipment needed and the technical know-how required. That is no longer the case.

In the new decade, we'll be exploring all the ways that podcasts and audio content can transform your business and your lifestyle. ANYONE can create a podcast.

Our mission is to show you how to effectively use your podcast as a marketing machine that turns a profit.

Email marketing

The results are in. Email is still the most effective "distribution tool" there is.

As email marketing becomes more and more sophisticated, your opportunity to use email to close on sales grows.

As always, Copyblogger will continue to provide the very best content that will show you all the ways you can use email as an effective sales tool.

Content curation

Sometimes the best way to build a business isn't through creating original content, but rather to be a curator of valuable resources.

Some of the most successful online brands use curation as their primary content strategy.

This is perfect for people who are uncomfortable with writing or creating original content of their own. It could very well be the case that your best option is curation.

We'll teach you the techniques, skills, and marketing hacks that will save time and energy while building your authority.

Copywriting and the written word

You didn't think we would forget about the writers, did you?

Great writing, effective headlines, and tactful sales copy is still (and will always be) an integral part of what Copyblogger has to offer.

Make no mistake, even with all the changes that we've seen over the last 10 years, the writers still run this show.

The rules may have changed slightly, but fear not, we're here to show you the way and guide you on your path to content marketing mastery.

It's all happening, starting right now!

First, we are excited to announce that starting next week, we will be opening up our popular Content Marketer Certification Program again. If you are interested in learning more about the program, you can click this link to learn more and we will notify you when registration opens.

Next, over the course of the next month, you'll see some major changes on the website.

You'll see a:

  • Better organization of our blog, podcast, and long-form guides
  • Some new design
  • New site structure

Shortly after that, we'll be releasing new courses and educational products that will quickly turn you into a content marketing expert.

Finally, you'll see a beautiful new membership community. Copyblogger has always been a community and serving our audience through a private membership community is a high priority for us.

This community is for people who are truly serious about creating success in their businesses and their lives.

Let's do this.

It's a new year. A new decade, and a new Copyblogger!

We can't wait to share this journey with you and here's to your continued success.
