Stop Writing New Blog Posts Okay, that title is kind of clickbait. But there's wisdom to it. Some of the biggest gains I've made in search traffic over the years have come from optimizing content that's already ranking rather than creating anything new. To do this, go to Search Console, look for posts that are doing well but aren't top-3 for your keyword, and then make them better however you can. Going from good to better often pays better than going from nothing to good. 2. Ideas For Cornerstone Pages I've talked before about cornerstone pages, which are website pages with tons of good information that target important, profit-generating keywords. Lots of people have asked me about what topics to cover in these. One idea is making them for the industries you serve (e.g. "marketing for pet stores"). Another is the services you offer (e.g. "SEO for local businesses"). Those are basic examples, but ones like those work very well. 3. Share Good News (And Sometimes Bad) I made a post about selling my company on X. It was the highest engagement and reach I had gotten in months. That's because people who were happy for me engaged, and a lot of people clicked on my profile. The broader strategy here is that sharing news, whether it's good or bad, is great for your personal brand. It often gets great engagement, and it makes people interested in you, not just your content. That's a win-win. 4. Lesson From The Build One thing I'm doing with my new agency is making sure all my customers feel satisfied. You can never give people everything they want, but you want them to feel like you care. It makes a big difference. Happy customers are the best advertisements for what you sell. You can put their reviews on sales pages, and they sometimes even refer more business to you.
